Considered one of the best surf photographer’s in the world, Zak Noyle is known for his unique perspective on surf and sea. Based on the Hawaiian island of O’ahu, this island boy spends countless hours in the water, creating dramatic imagery and artful interpretations of some of the worlds’ most beautiful surf scenery.
This young photographer started out by bringing a 36 exposure disposable camera into the surf with him as a young teen, but quickly rose to fame once his innate talent was noticed. Among his list of accolades: Zak Noyle became the senior staff photographer for Surfer Magazine at the age of 25; he won prestigious Red Bull Illume award in 2014, and was voted “Best Photo of the Year” by Surfer Magazine in 2011. Zak’s surf images can be seen in many high profile magazines such as National Geographic, London Times & ESPN and have been featured in advertising campaigns with clients such as Chanel, Stussy, RVCA, Billabong.
Zak Noyle’s success can be attributed to his ability to be in the right place at the right time to capture images that draw his viewers into the scene and into the moment. The fearless surf photographer routinely swims out into the most powerful and dangerous waves in the world, doing his best to stay clear of the oncoming rush of ocean and surfers alike, all with one goal in mind – to show people a world never before seen, bringing the viewers into his images and making them feel as if they are in the world’s most famous surf breaks.
This dedication to his work keeps Zak extremely busy throughout the year. Whether he’s catching a last minute flight to chase down the next perfect swell, touring the world to meet his wonderful fans across the globe, or participating in other appearances and charity events both at home and abroad, he’s always on the move.
Probably the most anticipated event Zak holds is his Aquatography Workshop. These free 2 day workshops give Zak a chance to give back to the surfing and photography communities that he loves so much, by offering an in-depth perspective into shooting underwater photos, explaining tips and techniques to aspiring surf photographers, as well as sharing his story to becoming Hawaii’s surf photographer.
This unique talent and dedication to his fans has earned this young photographer a huge worldwide following that continues to grow at tremendous speed now that many of Zak’s most stunning photographs are available as fine art prints.
