The weekend of the 25th, internationally exhibited, fine-art apprentice Dimitra Milan will be holding two art shows – one in Lahaina, Maui at the Derubeis Gallery, and the other at the Wyland Gallery, Haleiwa. Dimitra has not visited the Hawaiian islands for an art exhibition since March, with another show since the Wyland Haleiwa. Dimitra has since been traveling around the world and the nation, displaying her latest original sketches and paintings, while participating in live-painting auctions. From Florida to Lake Tahoe to Las Vegas and even to France – the dreamy pieces full of possibility have drawn Dimitra a large and diverse audience extremely fast – even allowing for Dimitra (17) to graduate high-school early to paint full time.
Dimitra has many new originals and pieces that she has been working on over the year, and her maturity as an artist is already evident since the last time she visited us in the pacific. This is an amazing chance to see the diversity and depth of the paintings – and the artist – in person. As a special recognition of Dimitra’s fans, we are offering a FREE MATTED PRINT to anyone who mentions the code word “THANKFUL” at each of the shows**
The Derubeis Fine Art of Metal Galleries has locations in multiple locations around the country. Founded by Chris DeRubeis, who has been recognized as “The Father of Conceptual Movement” – this network of galleries is the perfect setting for Dimitra’s newest work that uses multiple layers and color movement in order to provoke hopeful and dreamy thoughts.
The Wyland Gallery located in Haleiwa appeals to the lighter aspects of Dimitra’s work. The gallery as a whole features art that appeals to an island life – with natural landscapes, animal pieces, and bright colors. Dimitra’s pieces often feature women and animals with a sort-of spiritual connection – not unrelated to the nature-centric theme of the pacific.
We are excited to welcome this fine artist back onto our soil! The second half of Dimitra’s Hawaii Fall 2016 Tour will be held next month in December. You can check out the details on her Shows & Events page.
